What brings an item into Review?
An uncertain identification or missing information can bring an item into Review. Some details are easier to sort out once you have finished taking photographs. Review gives those items somewhere to wait, so photographing a shelf need not turn into an afternoon of detective work.
| Reason | What to look at |
|---|---|
| Uncertain identification | Compare the suggested name with the object, its label and any marks that help identify it. |
| Missing information | Fill in the details you know, including a title and category where needed. |
| An unexpected result | Look at the photographs and correct the details you know. A clearer photograph may help with a separate analysis. |
How do you review an item?
Open Review from Home or Workbench. The Needs review tab holds items waiting for attention; Verified shows recently verified items.
- Read the reason beside the item.
- Open its row to edit the details and compare them with your photographs.
- Save your corrections and confirm the item once you have checked it.
- Dismiss an item to take it out of Review. It stays in your collection.
For records, the useful clue is often in the small print. Add the catalog number or a clear photograph of the label so future you can spend less time squinting and more time choosing what to play.
Can you check several items together?
Yes. Select the items you have checked and confirm them together. Fill in any missing titles or categories first. You can also dismiss selected items from Review without deleting their collection records.
