Read the code on the pair
Photograph the shoes and the size tag. Compare the style code with the box label if you have it, then confirm the model and colourway. Similar-looking releases can have very different resale markets. A box may also have been separated from its original pair.
- Record the style code, release and size system shown on the tag.
- Photograph both shoes, including soles, heels, insoles and size tags.
- Describe creasing, sole wear, stains, repairs and odours.
- List the original box, spare laces and other included accessories.
Keep condition specific
Unworn, tried on and regularly worn are different descriptions. Collector terms such as “deadstock” can be used differently across marketplaces, so say what you know and follow the destination’s condition rules. A clean upper does not tell the whole story of a sole.
Compare the same model and size
Look for recent sold pairs with the same style code, size and similar condition. Asking prices, last-sale figures and shop prices answer different questions. Check the source, date and fees before treating one number as the value of your pair.
Keep those details with the photos in samla.ai. Review the suggested identification and estimated value, then save the shelf or box where the shoes live. The next time you look them up, “the red ones” can remain a perfectly good private nickname.
Does an original box matter?
It can affect demand and price. Compare pairs with similar accessories and describe the box’s condition.
Do all sizes sell for the same amount?
No. Compare your exact size where possible; demand and availability can differ.
