Where we were before this
The catalog knew everything a listing needs and none of it could get out. People were selling things off the back of samla.ai already, by opening the item on their phone and retyping it into a marketplace on their laptop.
That is twenty minutes per item, and twenty minutes per item is why the fourth thing you meant to sell is still in the cupboard. The decision to sell was never the hard part.

Why publish to marketplaces instead of building one?
Because Discogs, Tradera and eBay already have the buyers, the trust and the search traffic for these exact items, and a new marketplace with three listings on it helps nobody. Going to where things already trade was the only sensible option.
The part worth doing well was the handover. Tap Sell on an item, pick a connected marketplace, and the title, description, condition and suggested price arrive pre-filled from the scan. You check them, because the price and the condition are judgments only you can make, and publish.
Why does Discogs get special treatment?
Records are published against the exact pressing in the Discogs database rather than as free text. Buyers there search by release, so a listing attached to the right pressing is a listing that appears when somebody looks for that pressing, and a listing attached to nothing is a listing nobody finds.
Why did Selling Center need a Listings tab?
Because it was promising something it did not do. The sell sheet said "all your ads and listings" and the hub showed only items with a generated classified ad. Everything published to a marketplace had its status hidden on the individual item.
So a seller with fifteen live listings had fifteen places to look. Now there is one: a Listings tab with a row per listing, showing the marketplace, the status, the price and the date, and a detail view where you can open it on the marketplace, end it while it is live, or retry it if publishing failed.
Why can you steer the classified ad?
Because a lot of selling happens where there is no API. Facebook groups, a forum thread, the noticeboard at the record shop. samla.ai generates a ready-to-post ad from the item, in your language and with local pricing.
The change in this release is the rerun. Regenerating now opens an optional note, so "shorter", "no exclamation marks" or "mention the split seam" steers that run without changing the item. That came straight from people telling us the first draft was close but too breezy.
What landed, and why
| What shipped | Why |
|---|---|
| Publish to Discogs, Tradera, eBay | The catalog already held the listing; retyping it was the only thing in the way |
| Discogs pressing match | A record listing that is not attached to a release does not get found |
| Selling Center Listings tab | The hub promised every listing and showed only ads |
| Ad regeneration with a note | People wanted a different tone, not a different item |
FAQ
Is this on my plan?
Publishing listings and classified ad generation are Pro and Ultra features. Cataloging, rooms, Look up mode and the review queue stay on the free plan.
Which marketplaces can I use?
It depends on your country. Tradera is Swedish; Discogs and eBay reach further. The sell sheet shows what is available to you.
Does samla.ai take a commission?
No. The marketplace charges its own fees and samla.ai charges the subscription. Nothing sits in between.
What is next for selling?
More connectors. Reverb for instruments and gear and Etsy for vintage are both in progress; we will say so here when they are live rather than promising dates.
